About Ducktrap Photo

I made this site to display a portion of my black and white photography collection. Most of the photos I take represent scenic, nature shots and landscapes from around the world.

Settings

I try to view my surroundings acutely, and recreate the varied images that presented themselves, capturing the feeling that was inherent at that moment in a still photo. I shoot many images during poor weather; snow, fog, cold, wind, and rain create certain scenes not often found in picture-postcard conditions. Black and white photos capture these moments and add to the realism in ways that color photos cannot. bunchberries

Locations

I photograph in several different locations: locally in Massachusetts, around the Penobscot Bay area of Maine where water and fog dominate, in Iceland, a country that has wonderful lighting conditions as a result of the Northern latitude and daily combination of wind, rain, and sun, and lately during winter in Yellowstone National Park. You can view a portion of my photos in the gallery. I also display my work at various local art shows throughout New England.
